Dubai – Middle East Office

The establishment of the Oetker Collection’s regional headquarters in Dubai represents the company’s ambitions to expand its presence in the luxury hotel industry into the Middle East and Africa.

Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources and Finance are managed from the Dubai regional headquarters, which is lead by Mr. Samir Daqqaq, Senior Vice President for Development.

One of the principle accomplishments of the Dubai office has been the recruitment and continuous management of a Preferred Sales Agent network for the regions the office represents.

Mr. Ian Paul Medalle, Sales & Marketing Manager, Oetker Collection, Dubai

Mr. Medalle joined the Oetker Collection in 2010 bringing with him over 13 years experience in the hospitality industry. He has worked for several high profile hotels including the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in the Philippines and the Marriott Hotel Group where he undertook a variety of Sales and Marketing roles.

In 2000, Mr. Medalle moved to Dubai with the Marriott Worldwide Sales Organisation where he managed the group’s resources as well as the Ritz Carlton Resources Centre for the Middle East, Africa and the Sub Continent.

Immediately prior to joining the Oetker Collection, he worked for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, handling the Royal Service & Resources team.

Mr. Ajith Perera, Director of Administration and Finance, Oetker Collection, Dubai

With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mr. Perera worked in IT in Sri Lanka then accounting in Saudi Arabia, where he took on a role as Branch Accountant at Reza Investments Company.

Mr. Perera moved into the hotel industry in 1999 where he was promoted to Director of Human Resources & Training at the Marriott International in the Middle East & Africa. He joined the Oetker Collection in 2010.
