Hôtel du Cap – Eden Roc, Cap d'Antibes, France
Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, the Windsors, Marlene Dietrich, de Gaulle and John F. Kennedy – all of them have stayed at the Eden Roc. The House attracts business people, politicians and superstars to the same extent and is a real institution on the Côte d'Azur.
From the Sun Villa to Luxury Hotel
At the centre of world events – and yet tucked out-of-the-way: guests from all over the world appreciate the Hôtel du Cap – Eden Roc for these qualities.
Here you can reside in ten luxury suites, 60 junior suites and spacious rooms with superior decor as well as 50 luxuriously fitted double and single rooms with generous lay-out directly on the shores of the Mediterranean. All the rooms are classically furnished with straightforward, light, floral patterned materials, which harmonise perfectly with the natural light of the Côte d'Azur. All are equipped with air conditioning – as befits the Mediterranean climate.
The Grand Hotel was constructed in 1870 on the site of the private "Villa Soleil" or "Sun Villa" – on a 9-hectare large domain on the peninsula near Antibes amidst a Mediterranean pine forest. Formerly a refuge for people of all kinds facing stress and at one time a literary salon, today it constitutes three buildings: the main tract, the residence "Les Deux-Fontaines" and the "Eden Roc" wing, whose suites are rounded off by private terraces. The hotel has belonged to the Family Oetker since 1971.
Gastronomy with an international Reputation
What takes your breath away when you are a guest in the restaurant – the view of the rocky coastline or the culinary creations conjured up by Executive Chef Arnaud Poette and his team? Generally speaking, both! After all, the cooking concept is characterised by a classical Mediterranean style.
The terrace and the Bar represent the ideal surroundings for a break in between and a relaxing wind-up to the day. There is 24-hour room service available throughout the entire facility.
Banquets for Guests
Guests attending fests are assured of spectacular views and the same applies to participants at meetings, conferences and seminars in the "Iles de Lérins" Salon. The events sector in the Pavilion Eden Roc – with its expansive window fronts and a spacious terrace – provides an unimpeded view of the Mediterranean and the Lérin islands. There is an overall area of some 368 metres available, which can cater for as many as 400 people depending on the type of event and can be subdivided into three sectors. High tech equipment, floral decoration and interpreter service as required.
The Sea governs one's free Time
The heated seawater Swimming Pool has been chiselled out of the coastal cliffs in front of the Pavilion Eden Roc. Its blue floor provides the impression that you are actually bathing in the deep-blue sea itself.
Picturesque terraces are available if you wish to sunbathe; for guests, who are looking for a little peace and quiet, can find beach houses in a quiet corner of the terrain. An attentive team is on hand throughout the entire day to provide food and refreshments.
There are saunas for ladies and gentlemen, bio-sauna, a massage centre and fitness room with up-to-date training appliances available for guests at the Beauty and Care Section as well as in the Fitness Club in the rose garden of the Hotel Park. Beauty Salon Five hotel tennis courts. Personal Trainers are at your disposal to accompany and take care of you upon request.
Directly on the Sea
The British call the Côte d'Azur the "French Riviera". Logically speaking the "Blue Coast" governs everyday life at the Hôtel du Cap – Eden Roc. Anyone wishing to go to anchor with his yacht can do so at the hotel's own moorage – except when it's very stormy of course. You can also engage in diving, water-skiing, wind surfing and deep-sea fishing from this point.
At the same time, the Hôtel du Cap – Eden Roc is accessible from anywhere in Europe: the Nice international airport is only some 20 minutes away. Cannes-Mandelieu 30 minutes, Antibes Station only 10 minutes. Antibes can also easily be reached by car.
