Park Hotel Vitznau, Vitznau, Switzerland
"Every delighted guest is the best advertising", says Thomas Kleber, who has been Managing Director of the Park Hotel Vitznau since 2005. Alone the location and architecture of the 100-year old Belle Epoque building take the visitor's breath away, especially coupled with an expansive view of the emerald green Vierwaldstätter See against the backdrop of the Alps.
A Fairytale Castle
The Park Hotel Vitznau was built between 1901 and 1903 by the architect Karl Koller on behalf of the hotel pioneer Josef A. Bon and has belonged to the Family Oetker since 1980. Since then numerous renovation jobs have been carried out so that today it appears in all its glory as a modern fairytale castle. Guests reside in 103 stylish elegantly furnished rooms and suites including 71 double rooms, 25 junior suites and 7suites – all of them spacious, decorated in pastel shades, furnished with antiques and equipped with modern telecommunications systems. The generously planned bathrooms are in white and pink coloured marble.
Outstanding Cuisine
The "Quatre Cantons" is the top restaurant at the Park Hotel Vitznau and can boast 15 Gault Millau points. It is located directly at the Hotel Park with its terrace only a few metres away from the lake itself. Here the guest can indulge in innovative Mediterranean cuisine.
Exclusive international cuisine is presented in the "Panorama Restaurant" located above. When the elements are kind, the Pool Terrace with an extensive range of summer snacks and grilled dishes entices. The Bar is the meeting place for a chat with coffee and cakes, cocktails, drinks and refreshments together with live piano entertainment.
Private Atmosphere at the Spa
The Beauty Spa represents a glittering link in the chain of high-quality offers provided by the Park Hotel Vitznau. In a uniformly harmonic and contemporary atmosphere, six private treatment rooms invite you to relax and enjoy care at its best. The team of experts make use of high-grade products for facial and body care from the collections of Kanebo, Phytomer and Chris Farrell. The applications are based on a combination of traditional and oriental methods – including Ayurveda Abhayanga, Lomi-Lomi, the queen of all massages, the Taitibe Massage – a unique combination of meridian science and Tibetan sound massage. A relaxing short active holiday at the Day Spa is also possible.
The spacious heated indoor and open-air pools, Sauna, steam-bath, Solarium and Fitness Centre, the sunbathing area at the lake, two tennis courts, water skiing with the hotel's own motorboats, table tennis and bicycles round off the programme. There are further sports activities in the vicinity: rambling, cycling, sailing, fishing, para-gliding, mountain biking, riding; 18-hole golf courses are to be found at Küssnacht, Lucerne and Sempach.
State-of-the-Art Luxury for Banquets and Conferences
Conferences and banquets are possible for groups of up to 200 persons at the Grand Hotel, which belongs to the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Swiss Deluxe Hotels. All conference rooms and banqueting rooms are generously designed with natural daylight and fitted with 21st century state-of-the-art conference facilities: soundproof windows, air conditioning system, ISDN and WLAN.
Award-Winning
After the implementation of the quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001-2000 that was assessed as exemplary, the Park Hotel Vitznau was awarded the Swiss Tourism Stage III seal of quality.
At the "Queen of the Mountains"
The leisure sportsman need only cover a few hundred metres to arrive at the valley station for the Rigi, the "queen of the mountains", whose massif offers more than 100 kilometres of car-free rambling paths. It's also only a short distance to the embarkation point for the regular shipping service, in fact, if requested the fleet also stop at the hotel's own moorage. The historic sites that we know from Schiller's "Wilhelm Tell" as well as the city of Lucerne with its Congress Centre designed by Jean Nouvel, which contains the art museum and concert hall, are to be found in the direct vicinity. Basle, Berne and Zurich with their rich cultural and economic heritage are each about an hour's drive by car.
