Originally built in 1822, Hotel La Palma – formerly known as Locanda Pagano – is the oldest hotel on Capri.
Where history meets hospitality
The history of Locanda Pagano, the first family-run hotel on the island, is is closely linked to the birth of hospitality on the island, and to those who transformed a fishermen's community into a tourism industry that has now been thriving for two centuries.
The first owner of the property begins a register of guests. Numerous artists stay and offer drawings, paintings and other artworks as a form of payment and gratitude.

The inn expands under the name Hotel Vittoria. It will later become Pagano.
Hotel Pagano is sold and renamed Hotel La Palma by its new owners.
Newly sold, Hotel La Palma is taken down and completely reconstructed.
Reuben Brothers acquire the hotel and entrust the management to Oetker Hotels.
After a top to bottom refurbishment by award-wining interior designer Francis Sultana, Hotel La Palma reopens its doors with 50 rooms, three restaurants, a spa and an elegant beach club in Marina Piccola. A new chapter for Capri is written.
