Krug Champagne Dinner at The Lanesborough

For The Lanesborough's final wine dinner of 2026, Head Sommelier Jules Coppier is joined by Krug Brand Manager, Juliette Bérard, to explore the prestige and history of one of the world's most emblematic Champagne maisons, Krug. This not-to-be-missed event for Champagne lovers is a convivial evening of canapés, Champagne and a three-course menu of seasonal, modern British dishes by The Lanesborough's Executive Chef, Shay Cooper.

Krug was born in 1843 from the vision of Joseph Krug, who dreamed of creating the fullest possible expression of Champagne every year, whatever nature might bring. He understood that no single year could ever reveal every facet of Champagne, and so he chose to compose rather than simply reproduce; Bringing together wines of different origins, characters and ages to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

At the heart of Krug lies the art of blending: a vast palette of individual wines, each preserved for its own personality, patiently awaiting its place in the final composition. Reserve wines reaching back many years bring depth and memory, while the wines of the year provide energy, freshness and a sense of place.Yet Krug’s pursuit of individuality also finds its purest expression in a single vineyard: Clos du Mesnil. A tiny, walled plot of Chardonnay in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, planted in 1698, it has become one of Champagne’s most revered single-vineyard wines. From this exceptional parcel, Krug reveals the extraordinary precision, tension and longevity that a single place can possess.
