Richard Wagner’s Lohengrin – New Production conducted by Joana Mallwitz
Wagner’s Lohengrin returns to Baden‑Baden in a fresh yet deeply nuanced interpretation. Under the musical direction of Joana Mallwitz and in the atmospherically rich staging by Johannes Erath, the production opens new perspectives on the work’s romantic mystique and emotional power.
Asmik Grigorian & Lukas Geniušas – Recital
With her modern and immediately affecting expressiveness, Asmik Grigorian brings new depth to the romances of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. Together with Lukas Geniušas, the evening unfolds with a blend of chamber‑like intimacy and operatic radiance.
Symphony No. 8 – Conducted by Klaus Mäkelä
Anton Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony resounds in Baden‑Baden with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Klaus Mäkelä, one of the most compelling conductors of our time. With his energetic presence and precise interpretation, he continues the orchestra’s great Bruckner tradition and presents this monumental opus summum with clarity and momentum.
War Requiem – Conducted by Joana Mallwitz
Britten’s War Requiem powerfully intertwines the Latin Mass texts with the poetry of Wilfred Owen, unfolding under the musical direction of Joana Mallwitz as a moving message of peace. The monumental forces of choirs, orchestra and soloists transform the work into a resonant appeal against war and violence.
