At Le Bristol Paris, rising above the city and taking time for oneself go hand in hand. A single elevator ride to the sixth floor leads to the pool, seemingly suspended in the Parisian sky. Opened in the early 1980s, it is one of the most beautiful a Parisian palace can offer, and undoubtedly the most surprising. On one side, a vast solarium reveals a breathtaking view stretching to the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre; on the other, the rooftops of Paris unfold behind floor-to-ceiling windows, framing the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower.

Designed by naval architect Cäsar Pinnau, the entire space evokes the deck of a luxury 1920s yacht cruising the Mediterranean. A solid teak floor frames the blue waters of the pool and extends onto a trompe-l'œil stern, where Belle Époque passengers gaze toward Cap d'Antibes and the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, another crown jewel of the Oetker family. On the ceiling, a stretched canvas shelters a macaw with multicoloured wings and butterflies in flight, completing the illusion of a sun-drenched and exclusive elsewhere.
