So chic, so cat, Socrate

For pet-owning guests at Oetker Hotels’s Parisian home, Le Bristol Paris is singular in its ability to welcome four-legged family members in such plush elegance.

This fondness for furry companions is no coincidence: for over eleven years, Le Bristol Paris has been home to some of its most precious permanent residents.

A Sacred Birman like his predecessor Fa-raon, Socrates arrived at the Bristol in October 2021, just four months old. From his father, he inherited looks that steal hearts at first glance: a hypnotic lagoon-blue gaze, a snow-white silken coat with hints of pearl grey, gloved paws and a confident stride. A breed renowned, as it happens, for being hypoallergenic — a welcome trait in a house of many guests.

Embraced wholeheartedly by staff and guests alike, Socrates embodies the very spirit of the Bristol: that of a palace that is warm, alive, and genuinely familial. He leaps from chest to console, drapes himself across Louis XVI armchairs, chases butterflies through the garden, and holds court with serene indifference on the hall's most coveted cushions.

As much a star as he is a soul, Socrates is not simply the palace's cat. If anything, it is the palace that belongs to him.
